WNY Mom Charged With Drunken Driving In Crash That Injured 13 Month Old Daughter

HENRIETTA, N.Y. (AP) -- Police say a 26-year-old woman was driving drunk with her toddler in the car when she crashed into a pole near Rochester.

The Democrat and Chronicle reports that Evelyn Gilchrist was arrested shortly after the crash at 3 a.m. Saturday in Henrietta.

Police say Gilchrist was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with two broken legs and other injuries.

Her daughter, 13-month-old Jordon, suffered a broken leg and lacerations. She was taken to the same hospital.

Gilchrist was arrested on charges of drunken driving and vehicular assault.

It wasn't clear if she had an attorney who could speak on her behalf.
