Organizers scheduled the series for the first time in three years. It expanded to include the five top-ranked teams, New Zealand, England, Canada, France, and the U.S.
The U.S. game, at 4 p.m., precedes the New Zealand-England match, which begins at 1 p.m. Tickets start at $30.
The U.S. last hosted the tournament in 2016 when Canada won the title. England claimed the runner-up spot.
Hosted in partnership with World Rugby, the Women’s Rugby Super Series 2019 has been staged to attract more attention to the women’s game.
Organizers scheduled 10 matches, giving all the teams the opportunity to play each other once, beginning June 28.
The U.S. lost to England, 35-5, and to New Zealand, 33-0, before prevailing over Canada, 20-18.
The Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista, also the training site for the USA Women’s and Men’s Sevens teams, hosted the early rounds.
“This will arguably be one of the biggest events in women’s rugby in 2019 and having USA as the host will generate a positive impact for our program, players and community,” said Emilie Bydwell, USA Rugby Women’s General Manager.
