Three Boys Arrested In Connection To Stolen Car: University Heights Police Blotter


Fleeing and eluding: Cedar Road

At 12:10 p.m. Aug. 9, police conducted a traffic stop on a car reported stolen from Cleveland. After stopping, the car sped from the scene, eastbound on Cedar Road. Lyndhurst police found the car parked in the lot of Giant Eagle, 25105 Cedar Road, at Legacy Village. Arrested and charged with receiving stolen property were three Cleveland boys, ages 16, 14 and 14.

Theft from auto: Ashurst Road

Just before 8 a.m. Aug. 5, a woman reported that, during the previous night, someone had broken into her car and stolen personal papers, a wallet and her purse.

Assault: Fairmount Boulevard

At 3:45 p.m. Aug. 5, a staff member at Bellefaire JCB, 22001 Fairmount Blvd., reported that a 13-year-old girl who resides at Bellefaire had, on four occasions dating to July 9, assaulted another female resident, also 13. Police are investigating.

Theft: Warrensville Center Road

At 6:30 p.m. Aug. 7, police arrested a Cleveland man, 26, and a Cleveland woman, also 26, for stealing clothes worth a total of $161 from Macy’s, 2201 Warrensville Center Road.

Theft: Cedar Road

At 2:10 p.m. Aug. 9, loss prevention at Target, 14070 Cedar Road, detained a Cleveland Heights boy, 13, who stole merchandise worth a total of $240. Police charged the boy with theft and released him to his mother.

OVI: Cedar Road

At 1:45 a.m. Aug. 10, an officer stopped a car that did not have activated headlights and that had no working taillights. It was subsequently learned that the driver, a Lyndhurst man, 25, was intoxicated. The man was charged with OVI and for the equipment infractions.

Theft: Warrensville Center Road

At 1:20 p.m. Aug. 10, police were called to Macy’s, where a theft was in progress. When officers arrived, loss prevention informed police that two female suspect had stolen merchandise worth $885. Of that merchandise, $835 worth had been recovered. The suspects were not apprehended.

Disorderly conduct: Cedar Road

At 2:05 p.m. Aug. 11, police were called to a residence where a disturbance involving three men was reported. The men argued and physically fought. Arrested and charged with disorderly conduct were three University Heights men, ages 56, 50 and 33.

Discharging firearms: Cedar Road

Just before midnight Aug. 11, police received multiple calls from residents reporting that they had heard four gunshots fired behind a building. Police recovered two shell casings, but found no damage. The matter is being investigated.
