Thief Steals Car Left Running In Redfern Road Driveway: Parma Police Blotter

PARMA, Ohio --

Stolen vehicle, Redfern Road

On May 7, a Redfern Road resident left her car running while she went back into her home. When she returned to the driveway, the car was gone.

There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Drug abuse, Lucerne Avenue

On May 8, a concerned resident called police about a suspicious man seen in a Lucerne Avenue home.

An arriving officer located the Mercer, Pa., man, who was arrested for possessing suspected felony drugs. He was cited for drug abuse.

Aggravated burglary, Essen Avenue

On May 6, an Essen Avenue resident called police after returning home to find out that someone had stolen property.

An arriving officer talked to the resident, who showed the officer how a thief had used forced entry to break into the home. The suspect got away with cash, handguns, a laptop computer and a video game station.

There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Arson, Lucerne Avenue

On May 6, police were dispatched to a Lucerne Avenue residence regarding a garage fire.

An arriving officer located a Broadview Heights man who was suspected of setting the victim’s detached garage on fire. The suspect was arrested for suspected arson, obstructing official business, inducing panic and criminal trespass.

Breaking and entering, West Pleasant Valley Road

On May 7, police were dispatched to a West Pleasant Valley Road residence after a homeowner discovered that someone had entered their detached garage and removed several tools.

There are no suspects. Police are investigating.

Theft, Brookpark Road

On May 3, police were dispatched to the T-Mobile on Brookpark Road after a man and a woman stole an iPhone.

An arriving officer located the thieves, who attempted to flee in their car but were eventually pulled over. The Lorain man and woman were arrested for theft, failure to comply/fleeing, criminal damage and obstructing official business.

The driver was also cited for driving with a suspended license.

Drug abuse, Alber Avenue

On May 4, an Alber Avenue resident called police about their loud neighbors.

While talking to the loud couple, police learned that the man had a warrant. He was arrested. Also, police found drugs.

The Parma man and woman were both charged with drug abuse.
