The Reborn De Tomaso Will Debut At This Summer’s Goodwood Festival Of Speed

Apollo has kept pretty quiet about the details of its upcoming revival of the De Tomaso brand, but now we’ve just learned a little bit more about the sports car, including its not-too-far-away unveil date.

In a conversation with Apollo’s General Manager Ryan Berris, The Drive was told the forthcoming vehicle would be revealed on July 4 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

“Project P,” as it is currently called, will be developed using “existing technological partnerships” through Apollo, as well as a “world-renown German engineering firm” to make sure the reveal isn’t just of a propped-up bit of cardboard, but a working prototype.

Obviously, Berris didn’t want to speak too much about the new vehicle, so most of the information about it will be kept under wraps until closer to reveal time.

What we know from previous teasers and leaked images from the project, however, are that it will likely resemble the Pantera (hence the name “Project P”) from the early 1970s, De Tomaso’s most famous model.

When asked about why the brand deserved a revival, Berris said “Alejandro’s journey was never properly told, and we feel his name should be commonly recognized amongst greats such as Enzo Ferrari and Ferruccio Lamborghini.”

Apollo purchased the rights to the De Tomaso name back in 2014 and has been silently building up to this point since then. Let’s hope they can capture the original spirit of Alejandro with their new sports car.
