Police Search For Driver After Pedestrian Killed In Hit And Run Crash In St. Petersburg

ORLANDO, Fla. - A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on State Road 408, officials said.

The eastbound lanes of SR 408 were shut down Wednesday evening from the Mills Avenue to Lake Underhill Road exits.

Officials said the man, identified Thursday as 41-year-old Glenn Kale, was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Orlando police said they are investigating the incident as a fatal hit-and-run. Witnesses described the vehicle that left the scene may be an older model, white F-150 with a ladder. Police said it will have front-end damage.

Police said SR 408 would be shut down for several hours while they investigated. Eastbound State Road 408 reopened Wednesday night.
