La Puente Man Dies When Car Goes Over The Side Of Laguna Canyon Road

A La Puente man died early Thursday, Nov. 8, when his car went over the side of Laguna Canyon Road near the Nix Nature Center, the California Highway Patrol said.

The crash was still under investigation, but CHP officers believe the driver lost control of the car and veered off the roadway and into an embankment. The single-car crash along the road, northbound Highway 133, was reported to the CHP at 6:30 a.m. The location is west of Laguna Beach.

The 46-year-old man, who was the only person in the black 2006 BMW Series 3, was thrown from the car by the force of the crash. Orange County firefighters said the man was dead at the scene, a CHP report said. The man’s full identity was not available Thursday. Orange County Coroner officials said they were trying to contact his family.
