IRONTON - A Proctorville, Ohio, area man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court to aggravated trafficking in 27 grams of meth and faces a five-year prison sentence.
Douglas E. Radcliff, 61, of Township Road 220, Willow Wood, Ohio, pleaded guilty in the drug trafficking case. A drug possession charge was dismissed. Judge Christen Finley set final sentencing in the case for May 29.
Jeffery Smith, an assistant prosecuting attorney, said he would recommend a five-year prison sentence in the case. The prosecutor's office won't oppose judicial release to the STAR Community Justice Center after Radcliff serves three years in prison. The STAR program can take up to six months to complete.
In an unrelated case, Keith A. Dixon, 32, of Township Road 290, Ironton, pleaded innocent to aggravated robbery, assault on a peace officer and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. He is charged with trying to take a firearm from a law enforcement officer. Finley set bond at $250,000.
In other cases:
n Anthony R. Williams, 42, of Columbus, Ohio, pleaded innocent to aggravated trafficking in 6.9 grams of meth, aggravated possession of drugs, two counts of having weapons while under disability, being a felon in possession of a firearm, tampering with evidence, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, receiving stolen property, possession of cocaine, possession of drugs and resisting arrest. Finley set bond at $100,000.
n Gregory C. Mays, 36, of Township Road 138, Ironton, pleaded innocent to vandalism, tampering with evidence, escape, breaking and entering, and open dumping. Bond was set at $50,000.
n Tonya M. Hardy, 30, of County Road 124, Chesapeake, Ohio, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs. She was placed on community control sanctions for four years and was ordered to complete the program at STAR. Hardy also was ordered to do 400 hours of community service.
n Brittany N. Sparks, 32, of Private Drive 135, Proctorville, pleaded innocent to breaking and entering and resisting arrest. She faces other charges, including failure to appear. She failed a drug test and her bond was set at $25,000.
n Rebecca Davis, 63, of the 2200 block of North 7th Street, Ironton, pleaded innocent to three counts of complicity to trafficking in drugs. Her husband, Roy Davis Jr., 62, of the same address, pleaded innocent to three counts of trafficking in drugs. Both were released on a $50,000 recognizance bond.
n Kenneth Bench, 37, of Township Road 1056, Proctorville, pleaded innocent to a theft charge. He was released on a $50,000 recognizance bond.
n Breanna N. Sexton, 26, of the 700 block of South 9th Street, Ironton, pleaded innocent to two counts of aggravated trafficking in meth and one count of trafficking in drugs. Sexton was released on a $10,000 recognizance bond and ordered to wear an ankle monitor.
n Justin R. Walters, 30, of Louis Avenue, Greenup, Kentucky, pleaded innocent to aggravated possession of meth. He was released on a $25,000 recognizance bond and ordered to seek drug treatment.
