Car Winds Up Inside Columbia Apartment After Crash

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Columbia police say a car slammed into an apartment unit on the southeast side of the city Saturday afternoon.

The car went into a unit at the Wellington Apartments, located at 700 Greenlawn Drive just off Garners Ferry Road.

The person inside the home did not report any injuries.

The driver has been detained, and she was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The cause of the wreck is under investigation.
