Alex Rodriguez Has $500K In Items Stolen From SUV In San Francisco, Report Says

While Alex Rodriguez was in San Francisco broadcasting the Giants and Phillies game for ESPN, a thief broke into his rental vehicle and stole an estimated $500,000 worth of items.

The missing goods included jewelry and electronics, The San Francisco Chronicle reported, citing sources familiar with the investigation.

Rodriguez's car was parked about three blocks from Oracle Park, sources said.

"Sometime between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., someone broke into a vehicle in that location and stole a camera, a laptop, miscellaneous jewelry and a bag, said Officer Adam Lobsinger, a San Francisco police spokesman. Lobsinger said the burglary involved a private citizen and it's against department policy to release victim information."

According to the source, ESPN rented a black Nissan SUV for Rodriguez and other members of the production staff.

The thieves broke into the vehicle when they were all having dinner after the broadcast.

The Chronicle reached out to both ESPN and Rodriguez for comment but were unsuccessful.

This is Rodriguez's second year on the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball broadcast team. He serves as a color analyst after playing 22 seasons in the MLB.

Rodriguez spent time in Seattle, Texas and two stints with the New York Yankees before he retired in 2016.

He left with a .295 batting average and as the fourth all-time leader in home runs (696).
